    Jeremy Deaner, Chief Executive

    After graduating from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne with a degree in Economics, Jeremy has built up 24 years of experience in the software industry. As an accomplished software executive he has been responsible for guiding many young businesses through their start-up and growth phases. Jeremy was part of the team behind the development of Geneva Technology, one of the best-known enterprise software businesses to emerge from the UK. During three years as VP Sales EMEA at Geneva Technology, he grew the business by winning more than 50 customers and helped take them from a $20 million valuation to an exit of $680 million when sold to Convergys in 2001. Subsequently, Jeremy led Convergys’ EMEA sales and marketing organisation.

    Jeremy was appointed to the post of Chief Executive of AmberFin in August 2008.

    Jay Batista, President, Americas

    Jay is responsible for driving AmberFin’s business growth across the Americas region. His remit includes responsibility for sales, marketing and business development.

    Jay is a skilled and seasoned broadcast technology executive and brings a wealth of experience of both hardware and software systems to AmberFin.

    Prior to joining the company, Jay was Vice President of Sales at VCI Solutions. He has also held senior roles at Harris’ Broadcast Communications Division and California Microwave.

    Jay was appointed to the post of President, Americas in March 2009.

  • Bruce Devlin, Chief Technology Officer
    Bruce Devlin, Chief Technology Officer

    Bruce is responsible for leading strategy and vision at AmberFin, helping our customers to deliver superior-quality TV, film and video content across a rapidly changing file-based media environment.

    After graduating from Queens' College Cambridge, Bruce has been working in the broadcast industry ever since. He joined the BBC Research Department working on Radio-Camera systems before moving to France where he worked on sub-band and MPEG coding for Thomson. Bruce joined Snell & Wilcox in 1993 where he started the company's work on compression coding. Bruce joined AmberFin, the software division of Snell & Wilcox in 2008 as VP of Technology where he guided the company on file, workflow, and systems issues. He was appointed to the post of Chief Technology Officer of AmberFin in January 2009.

    Bruce holds several patents in the field of compression and files. He has written international standards and contributed to books on MPEG and File Formats. He is co-author of the MXF File Format Specification and an active contributor to the work of the SMPTE and the AMWA. Bruce is a fellow SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers).

    Simon Adler, Vice President, Commercial Management

    Simon is responsible for the management of Technical Sales, Sales Operations and Bid Management, enabling him to work with Customers, Partners and System integrators to offer a holistic service both internally and externally.

    After graduating from Solent University in 1997 with a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Media Technology, Simon spent 2 years at Kingston Communications Ltd as an Broadcast Engineer for the British Forces Broadcasting service (BFBS). This included support of equipment, automation and project management for the distribution of television and radio services internationally.

    Subsequently he joined Encoda Systems as an Automation support engineer where he was involved in the installation and launch of multi channel playout facilities operating 24/7 across Europe.

    In 2001 Simon joined Snell and Wilcox as a Technical Sales Executive and progressed to the Head of the Project Team, managing the pre and post sales support teams for major global projects.

    Peter Elleby, Vice President, Engineering

    Peter is responsible for developing new business opportunities and ensuring innovative research is translated into tangible customer benefits.

    Prior to joining AmberFin, Peter was Vice President of Engineering for Touch Clarity, a leading provider of on-site behavioural targeting solutions, which was acquired by Omniture. Before this he was Chief Technologist at Brooks Automation, where he led the development of the award-winning Real-Time Dispatcher and the Activity Manager workflow automation product. With acclaimed expertise in Artificial Intelligence and real-time optimisation, Peter was initially a Research Fellow at the University of Reading, publishing more than 30 technical papers covering this area.

    Peter was appointed to the post of Vice President, Engineering in May 2009.
