Jeremy Deaner Jeremy Deaner Chief Executive

After graduating from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne with a degree in Economics, Jeremy has built up 25 years of experience in the software industry. As an accomplished software executive he has been responsible for guiding many young businesses through their start-up and growth phases. Jeremy was part of the team behind the development of Geneva Technology, one of the best-known enterprise software businesses to emerge from the UK. During three years as VP Sales EMEA at Geneva Technology, he grew the business by winning more than 50 customers and helped take them from a $20 million valuation to an exit of $680 million when sold to Convergys in 2001. Subsequently, Jeremy led Convergys’ EMEA sales and marketing organisation.

Jeremy was appointed to the post of Chief Executive of AmberFin in August 2008.

Bruce Devlin Bruce Devlin Chief Technology Officer

Bruce is responsible for leading strategy and vision at AmberFin, helping our customers to deliver superior-quality TV, film and video content across a rapidly changing file-based media environment.

After graduating from Queens' College Cambridge, Bruce has been working in the broadcast industry ever since. He joined the BBC Research Department working on Radio-Camera systems before moving to France where he worked on sub-band and MPEG coding for Thomson. Bruce joined Snell & Wilcox in 1993 where he started the company's work on compression coding. Bruce joined AmberFin, the software division of Snell & Wilcox in 2008 as VP of Technology where he guided the company on file, workflow, and systems issues. He was appointed to the post of Chief Technology Officer of AmberFin in January 2009.

Bruce holds several patents in the field of compression and files. He has written international standards and contributed to books on MPEG and File Formats. He is co-author of the MXF File Format Specification and an active contributor to the work of the SMPTE and the AMWA. Bruce is a fellow of SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers).

Mark Nanovich Mark Nanovich CFO

Mark has considerable experience at Finance Director level in multi-national start-up technology led businesses. Prior to joining AmberFin, Mark was Finance Director of Cyberview Technology, Inc. where he led capital raising activities, IPO on the AIM market and the successful trade sale to IGT. From 2000 and 2001 he was FD of.Stilo International plc, an AIM quoted company in the IT sector. From 1993 to 1999, he was Group Financial Controller for Provalis plc, the biotechnology group that was listed on the London and Australian Stock Exchanges and had ADR’s traded on NASDAQ. He is member of both the English and Australian institutes of chartered accountants

Simon Adler Simon Adler VP, Technology & Solutions

Simon is responsible for the management of Technical Sales, Sales Operations and Bid Management, enabling him to work with Customers, Partners and System integrators to offer a holistic service both internally and externally.

After graduating from Solent University in 1997 with a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Media Technology, Simon spent 2 years at Kingston Communications Ltd as an Broadcast Engineer for the British Forces Broadcasting service (BFBS). This included support of equipment, automation and project management for the distribution of television and radio services internationally.

Subsequently he joined Encoda Systems as an Automation support engineer where he was involved in the installation and launch of multi channel playout facilities operating 24/7 across Europe.
In 2001 Simon joined Snell and Wilcox as a Technical Sales Executive and progressed to the Head of the Project Team, managing the pre and post sales support teams for major global projects.

Paula Bargery Paula Bargery VP Sales, EMEA

Paula is responsible for developing all AmberFin business growth across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Prior to joining AmberFin, Paula was VP Maintenance and Support Sales, EMEA at Infor Global Solutions, charged with the protection and growth of Infor’s maintenance revenue stream and driving the business through the integration challenges presented by Infor’s acquisition programme.

Prior to that, Paula was EMEA Director of Software Sales at Harris Corporation / Encoda Systems which included transmission, scheduling, airtime sales and digital asset management systems. Paula holds a degree in History from the University of Leicester.

Paula joined AmberFin in August 2009.

Steve Higgins Steve Higgins VP Engineering

Steve has responsibility for the Engineering, R&D and Customer Service functions at AmberFin. Steve brings over 20 years of experience in managing and designing software and hardware based products for the Broadcast industry.

In 1996, Steve was one of the partners that founded PSP Digital, a digital switcher manufacturer. He took on the role of Technical Director, developing the business plan, product line and product strategy that led to its successful sale to Snell & Wilcox in 2001.

Within Snell & Wilcox, Steve continued in an engineering development and management function, most notably creating, building and leading the team responsible for Snell & Wilcox's file based transcoding and conversion technologies. In 2008, at the launch of AmberFin, Steve took on the role of Head of R&D and oversaw the integration of several R&D teams and their software products that have since been developed into the award winning AmberFin iCR. Steve leads a succesful, multidisciplined engineering team that excels in producing reliable software that produces best-in-class results.

Steve was appointed VP Engineering in 2011.
