Jeremy Deaner, Chief Executive

Jeremy Deaner, AmberFin, Chief ExecutiveAfter graduating from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne with a degree in Economics, Jeremy has built up 24 years of experience in the software industry.  As an accomplished software executive he has been responsible for guiding many young businesses through their start-up and growth phases.  Jeremy was part of the team behind the development of Geneva Technology, one of the best-known enterprise software businesses to emerge from the UK.  During three years as VP Sales EMEA at Geneva Technology, he grew the business by winning more than 50 customers and helped take them from a $20 million valuation to an exit of $680 million when sold to Convergys in 2001. Subsequently, Jeremy led Convergys’ EMEA sales and marketing organisation.

He was appointed to the post of Chief Executive of AmberFin in August 2008.

Peter Fredericks, Finance Director

Peter FredericksPeter will provide continuity for AmberFin as Finance Director of this new business unit alongside his continuing responsibilities for the Snell & Wilcox Group as a whole.

After training as a chartered accountant, Peter spent 7 years with Meggitt plc, the aerospace and automotive electronic component and systems design group based both in UK and USA. He gained experience at all levels and particularly focused in managing under-performing units and spent a period managing the groups mergers and acquisitions activity.

After 3 years with Siebe plc as EAME Finance Director for their safety products division he concentrated on managing private equity invested companies.  Peter spent 4 years with 3i invested Westcode Semiconductors Limited as Finance Director. Through this period he helped successfully steer the company through difficult market conditions leading to a sale to IXYS Corporation in the USA.

Peter joined Snell & Wilcox in 2004 where he has helped bring both corporate and commercial expertise and experience to the Company, improving financial reporting quality, relevance and speed of delivery.

Scott Allen, Vice President, Marketing

Scott AllenScott is responsible for marketing communications and product management.  This includes building the new brand globally and developing AmberFin’s markets of Film & Broadcast Content, Mobile, Telco, Internet and Cable & Broadband. 

After graduating from Bournemouth University in 1995 with a BA (Hons) degree in Marketing whilst subsequently achieving a MCIM, Scott has held various executive and managerial positions, starting his career with SIM pioneers ORGA Card Systems UK as marketing manager. During this time he had overall marketing responsibility for the UK, South Africa, Middle East, India and Australia.

In 2000 Scott was brought onto the management team of start-up company Bluefish Technologies as Global Head of Marketing.  His time at Bluefish was spent building a powerful brand and strong product portfolio, as well as developing and executing all marketing communications activities globally.

In 2003 Scott was appointed Global Marketing Director of SurfKitchen another young company with market leading on-device portal technology. With one customer and no market profile, Scott built a recognised brand and steered the company into a market leading position, with a high number of tier one clients and a place in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 companies.

In 2005 Scott joined the telecoms division of LogicaCMG (now Acision), as Global Marketing Director, bringing with him a wealth of over 10 years telecoms and technology marketing experience. Scott was responsible for driving brand and product awareness in the global marketplace which resulted in record turnover for 2006 and one of the largest private investor purchases within the industry.

Naresh Subherwal, Vice President, Business Development

Naresh Subherwal Naresh is responsible for business development. This includes building the business globally and developing both strategic alliances and channel partners.

After graduating from Queens University Belfast, Naresh worked for British Aerospace PLC, Air Weapons division in Systems Engineering and then Business Development. Naresh joined Snell & Wilcox Ltd in 1990 heading up global sales for the company throughout its rapid early growth phase leaving in 1997 to become Managing Director of TV/Com International. A US subsidiary of Hyundai Electronics Inc, TV/Com developed digital cable and satellite networks and consumer set-top boxes prior to its acquisition by Irdeto BV in 1999.

Naresh went on to co-found and head up the Applied Media Group Ltd (AMG), developing media services for broadcast and professional AV. Following the sale of AMG, Naresh re-joined Snell & Wilcox as Global Sales Director ahead of the investment by Advent Ventures in 2002 and is now responsible for AmberFin’s worldwide sales and customers.

Pete Smith, Vice President, Engineering & Operations

Pete SmithPete oversees the company’s product development process from inception of new ideas to delivery of product to market.  A 20 year veteran of the television industry, Pete’s experience encompasses all aspects of engineering development, planning, project management and quality control.

After graduating from Brighton University in 1984 with a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Electronic Engineering, Pete held various senior-engineering positions within Alpha Image, Abekas and Dynatech Video Group, culminating in Chief Engineer focusing on the development of Infrastructure, Router and Switcher products.

In 1996 he founded PSP Digital Limited and as Managing Director grew the broadcast Switcher company over a 5 year period.

Following the acquisition of PSP by Snell & Wilcox in 2001, Pete was appointed to Vice President of Engineering.

Simon Adler, Vice President, Commercial Management

Simon AdlerSimon is responsible for the management of Technical Sales, Sales Operations and Bid Management, enabling him to work with Customers, Partners and System integrators to offer a holistic service both internally and externally.

After graduating from Solent University in 1997 with a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Media Technology, Simon spent 2 years at Kingston Communications Ltd as an Broadcast Engineer for the British Forces Broadcasting service (BFBS).  This included support of equipment, automation and project management for the distribution of television and radio services internationally.

Subsequently he joined Encoda Systems as an Automation support engineer where he was involved in the installation and launch of multi channel playout facilities operating 24/7 across Europe.

In 2001 Simon joined Snell and Wilcox as a Technical Sales Executive and progressed to the Head of the Project Team, managing the pre and post sales support teams for major global projects.
