Automated QC, highest quality masters
Ingest is the start of the Transcode process. If content is not right there, there’s no point wasting time processing it further. AmberFin iCR’s QC & Review tools check received content at ingest, before it enters your local systems. It monitors dozens of audio, video and data parameters and flags any deviation from preset values. This means you can spot problems right at the beginning of your workflow, avoid time consuming reworks and prevent costly mistakes.
More cost effective and accurate than any human operator
Manual QC is costly and time-consuming. Even the best trained operators get tired or distracted and make mistakes. AmberFin iCR doesn’t. AmberFin iCR can automatically QC video, audio and data on ingest and at any other point you want in your workflow, monitoring dozens of parameters to give your operators a more accurate, detailed QC review than any unaided human operator could. AmberFin iCR processes many hours of content quickly and easily, so your margins are not eroded by personnel costs or mistakes. The review can be repeated at any subsequent stage in the workflow, giving you the assurance that your editing or transcoding business processes are running at full effectiveness.
AmberFin iCR produces easy to read reports which can be used for assisted review, detailing the exact nature of an error, time code and even a thumbnail of the frame where it occurred.
Guarantee delivery of high-quality HD content
High definition (HD) encoding is notoriously difficult and is also one area where you absolutely cannot afford to take chances with the quality of your output.
With AmberFin iCR, you can monitor for glitches that are barely perceptible to the human eye, giving you the best possible chance of delivering a high-quality HD product. All this happens in real-time for all HD formats.
Audio QC review
Audio presents unique issues in the file domain. AmberFin iCR offers powerful audio QC support across a wide range of formats enabling you to inspect in real-time every channel automatically across a range of parameters no human could ever hope to monitor in a single pass.
iCR also offers you the ability to decode a Dolby D-encoded channel into discrete 5.1 AES during real-time playback and output audio as SDI-embedded audio and AES outputs.
Media quality assurance throughout file lifecycle
With quality at a premium in today’s broadcast market, it pays to be able to demonstrate that your video material is free from glitches.
The detail level provided by AmberFin iCR far exceeds any manual quality control process—it is real-time, tracking dozens of parameters and providing in-depth reports on each of your files. In fact, the QC & Review reports produced by iCR have value in their own right, acting as a ‘pedigree’ or ‘passport’ that can be easily exported to an asset management system and relied upon throughout the whole lifecycle of a file for QC auditing purposes.
Implementing iCR QC at various stages in your media lifecycle allows your asset management vendor to track your media quality with minimal customization through simple XML comparisons.
Streamline QC and review workflows
AmberFin iCR makes it possible to batch review HD files in real-time.
QC reports are produced in human and machine readable form making it easy to integrate with down-stream processes that may depend on them and, enhance the value of your media asset management system.
Integrate with your existing systems and workflows
AmberFin iCR is built on flexible software modules so it can be easily scaled up to deal with your increased image processing demands. It is also packed with integration and automation features that will allow you to perform automated tasks as part of a wider image processing infrastructure, and link iCR to your business reporting systems.
So you can incorporate iCR into wider automated systems and/or use it to manage and feed into other software or hardware—creating new ways of reducing your overheads.
Easy to read reports for assisted review
AmberFin iCR’s QC & Review tools monitor dozens of parameters and can pick up the slightest deviation from your required output values.
Reports are easy to read, giving you the exact nature of the error along with the time code and even a thumbnail of the frame where it occurred. This lets your employees do a much better job of resolving the issue. Instead of checking output at set intervals, your operators can now target on sections where the QC report indicates there may be a problem and review it on broadcast-quality monitors, saving time and improving the chances of quickly tracking down issues.
A simple graphical user interface
The simplicity of AmberFin iCR’s graphical user interface (GUI) makes it easy to follow and annotate automated QC error reports against actual content on a frame-by-frame basis. Alternatively, you can easily review eXtensible Markup Language (XML) QC reports from a Web browser anywhere, or export them to enhance the value of your media asset management system.
